This is the place to tell the story of the subject of your TributePage®. You may want to cut and paste the obituary as it appeared in print. Or, you may want to edit what you paste here to remove details about the memorial service or about anything else that will not be pertinent after some time has passed.

Perhaps you will want to say something that you feel is a richer reflection of your loved one. If you helped to write the obituary, you will recall that there was a lot you would have liked to say that had to be left out due to space considerations. This is the place to share as much detail as you would like.

It could also be something like a favorite poem or saying. This can be anything you want to use to share "who" this person was and what they meant to those around them.

Remember that only you as the page creator, and the person designated as the page administrator (often the same person), can change this information. But, this can be changed as often as you like.

Uploading pictures to any website requires a little bit of technical experience. Photos can come from any source but you must have the rights to use any pictures you choose to upload.

You can use pictures that you have taken with a phone or tablet. Perhaps you have pictures that were sent to you via text message or email. You may also use a scanner to create digital copies of printed photos. Regardless of the source, we recommend that you store them in a folder so that you can easily locate them during the upload process.

The Tribute Photo area is divided into two main sections. The left panel is the picture viewer and it shows all of the pictures you have uploaded to the site. The right panel is the work area where you can perform specific tasks on individual photos.

From the picture viewer, you can change the sort order of pictures by clicking the up and down arrows. This allows you to group and sort pictures so that they display in a specific sequence. This is also where you can remove a photo.

You will notice that when you click on a photo, it is automatically transferred to the work area. From the work area, you can add captions and provide a background story for each picture. This is also where you select one picture to be the main Tribute Photo. This picture will always display first when the photos are viewed and it will also serve as the thumbnail when the TributePage® is found. As with the other content, you can change which picture to use as the Tribute Photo as often as you want.

As mentioned earlier, you will have every opportunity to rethink things and make changes to any choices you make in this first pass. All of these tools are also available in the "Update Tribute" mode. The Update Tribute mode is available only to the original TributePage® creator and the current TributePage® administrator. They are in complete control of the contents of the Tribute Text and Tribute Photos tabs. To access this mode, sign in and locate the Tribute you want to edit. You will see the "Update Tribute" button if you are the creator or the administrator of this TributePage®.

At this time, we are asking you to use any of the free photo editors to deal with things like cropping a picture or rotating it. Smart phones, PCs, and most other platforms come with a built in editor sufficient to these simple tasks and it is probably one that you are already familiar with.

This is an easy task from an In Loving Tribute point of view but might be a little daunting if you don’t have some YouTube experience.

It is beyond the scope of this discussion to explain how to create a YouTube account. But there are a lot of tutorials out there that do take this on. The basics include creating a YouTube account and, once signed in, creating a channel.

Once you have a channel, you upload your video to your channel and publish it. You will be supplied the link to use to direct people to your video. For example: https://youtu.be/STI8Jl5Cfoc, is the link to an actual video on our YouTube channel. This is what you would send to someone in an email and they could view the video on a PC, tablet, or phone.

We only want part of that link in the "YouTube Video ID" field shown below. The part we need starts after the last forward slash ("/") and for our example, would be STI8Jl5Cfoc.

Just click "Add" after you have entered the Video ID. The view will change to show a thumbnail of the video in question:

If this last step does not happen, something is not quite right. Click on the "Delete Above Video" button to remove the video. Double check the Video ID you are entering and try again.
